My world is surrounded by the glory of nature, New England nature, specifically. I am blessed, blessed, blessed to live on Loon Lake (my fictional name) where nature and visitors from the natural world are in abundance. Not a day goes by that we (me, my beloved Kady, and our little dog, Ellis) are not visited by creatures large and small. We've recently been visited (as have our neighbors) by a black bear. More on that visit another time. The life we live is simple and glorious.
Admittedly, we live in a house far too large for two people and a dog, but our lives are largely centered right here and we are blessed with visits by family and friends often, so it works.
I'll leave you with a wonderful quote from Henry David Thoreau that reflects my philosophy about life:
"The question is not what you look at, but what you see..." - Henry David Thoreau
